LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) develop sub-skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing
2) learn the meaning and use of language associated with discipline-related text types, using appropriate strategies to work out meaning
3) write discipline-related academic texts

3rd Week 3. Unit 1: Speaking -Speaking from notes
4th Week 4. Unit 2: Reading: Using research questions to focus on relevant information in a text
5th Week 5. Unit 2: Writing- Summarizing a text
6th Week 6. Unit 3: Listening- Predicting lecture content and using different information sources
7th Week 7. Unit 3: Speaking- Reporting research findings and formulating questions
8th Week 8. Unit 4: Reading- Identifying topic development within a paragraph and evaluating Internet search results
9th Week 9. Unit 4: Writing- Reporting research findings
10th Week 10. Unit 5: Listening- Understanding signpost language in lectures
11th Week 11. Unit 5: Speaking- Making effective contributions to a seminar
